Vertic’Albâtre is volunteering on Kalymnos not for the first time and they send us a message .

Keep Kalymnos clean ! I know Nicole Gratagos and Vertic’Albâtre, a French alpine club from Normandie that is visiting Kalymnos for climbing courses since 2016. I worked with the club for the first time in 2016 and met with their organization and Physical education teacher Nicole Gratacos !

Vertic’Albâtre, visit the island almost every year with Nicole Gratagos, either with the adults or youth team and they passionately climb with a big heart and gratitude for the island. They are always amazed and fascinated for all the gifts Kalymnos has to offer: The variety of the climbing areas, the sea, the sun, the people living on the island and the climbing vibe across Massouri village.

What amazed me, is that since the first time i met them and till now, and it is worth mentioning it, is their volunteer to always help by cleaning a beach or some of the streets of the island before returning back to France.

At the beginning of the season, after Winter, many of the beaches are very dirty due to the traches the sea brings. This time they decided  (15 of them) to  help the locals at Arginonta bay to collect the trashes in plastic bags (offered by local mini markets) . Locals helped to transfer the plastic bags of trashes.

Nicole, Kevin, Violette, Florence, Ludo, Guillame, Alex, Camille, Luca, Jean Michel, Antoine, Sam, Susie, Mathieu and Jeremy and all the locals that helped to the cleaning day MERCI ! A big thank you for the clean up the Arginonta Bay.
